How To Reset A Windows Mail Password

Windows Mail or Windows Live Mail is a free email client incorporated along with Windows operating systems, which provides enhanced features to send and receive emails. This application is the successor to the email client Microsoft Outlook Express, and is available for download via Windows Essential suite. The first version was released in November 2007 and got several features supporting web based email services like Hotmail, Gmail and Yahoo.

It allows the user to read emails from a wide range of accounts in a single program. All these accounts need not to be Windows Mail accounts but a valid email compatible with this software is enough. However, a true Windows Live Mail account is either hotmail.com or live.com. When you create the account, you have a choice between the two. Whichever account you may choose, the procedure to reset the password is the same. Here I am including a few Windows online support guidelines to reset the password of Windows Mail.

Instructions

  • First, you have to open a Web browser and navigate to the Windows Live website. Go to the Reset Your Password Web page. You need to change your password through this website rather than going through Windows Live Mail program itself.
  • Then you should click on the radio button next to the I Forgot My Password option to select it. The Reset Your Password option will appear and you need to click on it.
  • Next, you have to type your Windows Live ID and the characters that appear into the appropriate fields on this page. Click on the Next button and a new page opens. In that page there will be options Security Question and Customer Support. You should click on the radio button near to the Security Question option. If you are not able to remember the answer to your security question, you must contact the customer support center to change your password.
  • Now enter the answer to the security question that you have created into the field below the question. You should click on the Next button to continue to a page that asks for your new password. You have to type the new password into both fields on this page and then click on Next again. Now you have successfully reset your Windows Mail password.

For getting further assistance on this regard, you can refer to Windows online support services. Let
Windows Mail make your email experience delightful!
