Tutorial To Set Up Wireless Internet In A Windows XP System

Windows XP is still used by many users around the world, even though this operating system has become quite outdated. One of the features of the Windows XP operating system is that it can automatically detect a wireless network adapter after it is connected to the computer. If the system fails to detect the necessary drivers that are required for the network adapter to work, it will prompt the user to insert the necessary driver CD.
Follow this set of simple instructions provided by the Windows support team, if you want to set up wireless internet in your computer.
Guidelines to follow
Insert the driver CD for the wireless adapter into the CD drive of your computer, if you are prompted by the system. To install the drivers of the wireless adapter on your computer, follow the on-screen instructions. If prompted by the system, reboot your computer in order to complete the installation process.
Move the pointer of your mouse onto the wireless network icon located in the bottom right corner of your computer screen, and then right click on it. A menu will be displayed on the screen; from this, select the "View Available Wireless Networks” option. You will be able to locate a wireless network icon, as this will be displayed as a computer monitor with a red "X" next to it.
Choose your network after it has been displayed on the "Wireless Network Connection" window, and then click on the "Connect” option. If the network you are using has not yet been displayed on the window, click on the "Refresh network list" option located on the left-hand side.
If the network you are using is security-enabled, type the network key in to the "Network key" and "Confirm network key" fields. Click on the “Connect” button after entering the network key.
Exit the "Wireless Network Connection" window, when Windows is shown to be connected to the network. Determine whether you are connected to the internet by opening a web browser window in your computer, and then loading a web page in it.
These are the instructions that you are required to follow if you want to set up wireless internet in your Windows XP system.
