How To Use A Virtual On-Screen Keyboard In Windows XP?

  • In the first step, click Start, go to All Programs, then Accessories followed by Accessibility, and then click on On-Screen Keyboard. 
  • In the Keyboard menu, you have an option to select the type of keyboard. For example, you may have an enhanced keyboard or a standard keyboard, and you can also select the number of keys in the keyboard, such as 101, 102 or 106. 
  • In the Settings menu, Always On Top would be the program's default setting, and is advised as a very good option. You may also select to have a click sound each time a key is selected. Foe selecting keys you can choose the options Click, Hover or Joystick. 
  • Now, set the amount of time for the Hover or Joystick options. You may select a time to Hover or Scan with the joystick, which is between half of a second and three seconds. 
  • Start the program you would like to enter text into, and click in the text area of that program. At any point of time, you can also contact Windows XP support and seek assistance. 
  • In the next step, put the cursor over the keys in the On-Screen Keyboard to acquaint yourself with the program. If a key can be selected, it would be highlighted once you pass your mouse over it. 
  • Now, click on the shft key to make all the letters in the keyboard capital letters. Click the first letter of the first word you wish to type. Click shft again. Type the rest of the word, and click the space key at the bottom of the screen. 
  • If you make a mistake, click the bksp button, or select the text and click del. Now, click the ent key to enter the text into a desired field, such as a search engine field of a web browser. 
  • You can also click Help and go to Contents if you experience difficulties with the On-Screen Keyboard.
