Steps To Fix MSN Messenger


As a part of an overall branding, Microsoft changed the name of their chat support feature, MSN Messenger to Windows Live Messenger. You would be asked by the Windows Support Centre to update to the new version, if you try to update the older version of Windows Live messenger, which is the MSN messenger.  Follow the simple Microsoft tech support instructions briefed below to fix the issues of MSN messenger.

Instructions to fix MSN messenger 

When MSN messenger application displays the message you must install a newer version, click the radio button marked Yes to initiate the update process.
Hit the Run option when the update dialogue box, Do you like to run the MSN messenger application pops up.
Scroll down the service agreement dialogue box and place a tick mark in the option next to the label Accept MSN Messenger terms and conditions. This will create a Windows Live message box to appear displaying all the programs that you can install.
You can select the application from the list briefed. To select the application, place a tick mark.  Uncheck the boxes next to the application labels that you do not want to install.
The installation program will display a message explaining that MSN Messenger must be closed before starting the installation of the updates.
Select the label that reads Close These Programs for Me and then hit the Continue option. This will prepare the installation programs to download and in the process installs the files needed to update the MSN Messenger Application.
Hit Continue and then the Close option when the process gets  completed.
Fixing MSN Messenger if the Program Does Not Load
Launch the Start menu by clicking the start orb placed on the bottom left corner of the Start menu. From the Start menu pop select the label Control panel.
From the Control panel window, select the label that reads Add or Remove Programs.
This will launch the Add or remove programs window. Scroll down the window in search of the application that you want to uninstall.
Select the label that reads MSN Messenger 7.5. From the dropdown, select the change option.
Hit the repair option. This will make Windows overwrite the program files for MSN Messenger.
Hit the Finish option after you are done with the installation procedure.
