Editing Contact Details In Outlook Express

Outlook Express is the news and email client developed by Microsoft that is bundled as a default email application with the Windows XP operating system. It allows users to configure their webmail accounts and manage all the emails in an organized manner. Apart from that, Outlook Express program is also helpful to store contact information in the program, and access the details later.

The contact details entered in the Outlook Express program can be edited anytime as per your desire. If you want to change any of your contact’s name, email address, phone number, or address, the following set of instructions drafted by the Outlook Express help team will assist you in the concern.

Steps to follow

  • Close all the applications running on your computer and click on the shortcut icon on your desktop screen to launch the Outlook Express program. 
  • If you do not have a shortcut link for the application, click on the Start button located at the bottom left corner of your desktop screen, and select Run from the right pane of the resulting Start menu. You can also access the Run command box by using the Windows + R shortcut key combination.
  • Enter msimn.exe in the command box that appears on the screen. This will launch the Outlook Express program on your computer.
  • Go to the Contacts pane in the left bottom corner of the Outlook Express application window, and scroll through the list until you find the desired contact to edit.
  • Right click over the contact in the folder and select Properties from the consequent menu. This will open the Properties window on your computer screen.
  • Move on to the Summary tab to view all the saved information of the selected contact. 
  • Click on the Name tab to view the related details. Here, you can edit the fields for First, Middle, Last, Title, Display, and Nickname.
  • When you make any changes in the First, Middle, Last, and Title fields, it will be automatically updated in the Display section.
  • Click on the OK button when done, and close the Properties window. Now the contact details will be displayed in the main Contacts pane as you edited.
