Clean Ask Toolbar From The Registry

The Ask Toolbar is a browser add-on that allows you to search the web with the Ask search engine. You can use this toolbar both in the Internet Explorer and Firefox web browsers. However, the toolbar can make your browser respond slowly and can offer you poor internet experience. Follow the instructions briefed below to troubleshoot Ask search engine.
Ask toolbar removal instructions
• Launch the Start menu by pressing the Windows key imprinted with the Windows logo. Instead, you may launch the Start menu by clicking the Start orb placed on the bottom left corner of the home screen.
• Place the mouse pointer in the search space and type regedit. Hit the Enter key to initiate the search.
• Click on the label that reads regedit.exe from the search results.
• This will make the Windows registry editor window open.
• Navigate to the registry window location HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\appdatalow.
• Scroll down the window until you find the label that reads askbardis. Right click the askbardis label. From the dropdown, select the label that reads bar from the right pane. From the dropdown, select the label that reads Delete.
• Next, navigate to the location, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\classes\appid.
• From the window, select the label that reads genericasktoolbar.dll. You will find the same in the right pane. Right click the genericasktoolbar.dll label. From the dropdown, select the label that reads Delete.
• Next, navigate to the registry key in the left pane, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\Folders\C:\Program Files.
• Now, search for the label that reads Ask.com. You will find the same in the right pane. Right click the label that reads the same.
• From the right click dropdown, select the label that reads Delete.
• Close Registry Editor and reboot your computer.
Ask toolbar removal from Control Panel
• Launch the Control Panel window using the Run command prompt.
• Launch the Run command window using the shortcut Windows + R.
• Place the mouse pointer in the text space and type Control Panel.
• From the Control Panel window, select the label that reads Add or Remove programs.
• From the Add or Remove programs window, select the label that reads Ask toolbar. From the dropdown, select the label that reads Remove.
• Wait for the application to be removed. This may take some time. Hit OK once the application finishes removing the toolbar.
